Your horse instinctively knows how to release stress and tension—resetting their nervous system not just to survive, but to thrive.
Your horse is a finely attuned prey animal—naturally wired to sense energy, tension, and intention. Horses instinctively know how to release stress and return to a state of calm.
Every roll, twitch, and shake your horse makes isn’t random—it’s their way of releasing tension and re-balancing their nervous system. It’s how they stay present, connected, and recover —ready to move with ease.
Your horse instinctively—shakes off stress
But what about you?
If your body is holding onto stress—whether from life, riding, or past experiences—it can quietly affect your posture, your presence, and your partnership with your horse.
Just like your horse instinctively releases tension through movement—shaking, yawning, or rolling—you too have this natural ability.
As trauma expert Dr. Peter Levine reminds us, “Wild animals shake off trauma. Humans can relearn this too.”
This clinic is your opportunity to learn how to do what your horse does naturally—release, reset, recover and return to a more grounded state.
“Shaking and rolling are important self-soothing and physical reset behaviors for horses. We often see these after periods of stress, discomfort, or intense focus.”
— Dr. Sue McDonnell, PhD, Certified Applied Animal Behaviorist, University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine

Introducing Neuro-Flow Pilates for Equestrians?
Neuro-Flow Pilates is a somatic-based movement class that blends the strength and conditioning benefits of Pilates with Tension and Trauma Release Exercises (TRE).
In this workshop, Natalie guides you through her therapeutic mat class—inspired by Joseph Pilates’ original 34 mat exercises—designed to improve mobility, stability, core strength and overall posture. The session concludes with gentle neuro-genic tremoring, allowing your body to naturally release deep-held tension.
This isn’t just a workout—it’s a gift your body will thank you for. A somatic experience to support your riding, your nervous system, and your overall well-being.
Natalie has designed this clinic specifically for equestrians, it offers practical self-care tools to manage stress and release stored tension deepening your connection in the saddle—both physically and emotionally.
“Tension and Trauma Releasing Exercises” TRE
TRE is a series of simple movements that activate the body’s natural tremor mechanism—a gentle, involuntary shaking that helps release stored tension from deep within the muscles and nervous system. It’s like a movement-based meditation where you become the observer, allowing your body’s wisdom to guide the release.
Over time, this practice can help you feel more grounded, present, and deeply connected—both on and off the horse.
“Neuro” refers to your nervous system—the foundation of stress regulation, posture, and focus.
“Flow” is the grounded, focused state we enter when body and mind work in harmony.
“Somatic” The word soma means “the body as perceived from within.”
What is Somatic-Based Movement Therapy?
Somatic-based movement therapy is a mindful approach to movement that focuses on what you feel internally rather than how you look externally. It’s not about achieving a perfect pose or performance—it’s about tuning into the sensations within your body as you move. By consciously focusing on your internal experience, this practice helps release tension, improve body awareness, and restore balance in both the nervous system and the physical body.
Natalie’s trauma-informed approach helps you tune into the messages your body is sending—so you can observe and respond rather than react.
By listening to your body through breath, movement, and stillness, you reconnect with your internal wisdom and allow stress to release gently and naturally—just like our horses.
This half-day clinic is designed to help you reset from the inside out—so you can ride with more clarity, confidence, and ease.
Why You’ll Love This Clinic
Inspired by the wisdom of horseman Monty Roberts—who reminds us that trust, not tension, creates connection—this clinic will help you create that same trust within yourself.
Through this unique guided therapeutic movement session you’ll;
Activate your deep core stabilisers to build strength, improve balance, and support a more stable seat
Activate your glutes to stabilise the pelvis and enhance hip mobility—creating a softer seat and more effective leg
Develop strong postural muscles and improve thoracic mobility—to support a softer, more aligned ride
Release tension in your back, shoulders, and jaw—areas where riders often unknowingly store stress
Increase body awareness and build emotional resilience, both in and out of the saddle
Develop self-regulation tools to give you the competitor’s edge—usable before a ride, during competition, or in daily life
Improve sleep quality and access your body’s natural ability to restore, recover, and reset
Strengthen your connection with your horse by learning to ground and regulate yourself first
Whether you ride for pleasure or performance, this clinic offers tools to elevate your experience from the ground up.
